About Ulcerative Colitis

Note the change of address for the CCSG. Now PO Box 24-171, Royal Oak, Auckland, New Zealand. We have a fax now too and can be contacted this way on +64-9-6367242.

The Yamanouchi sponsored IBD Symposium, held in Auckland New Zealand is a forum for New Zealand IBD specialists to update their knowledge of current treatments for IBD. Dr Michael Kamm for England was the special guest. For details see full article.

Also see why Cyclosporin® is a viable alternative to surgery in severe colitis in our latest research article. Here.

Since the last update there have been 2 CCSG public meetings. Check out what a medical herbalist recommends for IBD as well as the notes from the 1998 Annual General Meeting.

New book review, From Strength to Strength by Iris Barrow. The CCSG has had this book available for some time and at last we have persuaded someone to review it.

Not so new but still current...

Australian IBD Register is currently asking for volunteers from New Zealand for inclusion on the Australian IBD Family Register. They are particularly interested in families where two or more members have an IBD, and also in twins in which one or both have an IBD. If you fit the bill and would like to be placed on the Register please contact the CCSG.
